JM Jewelers was originally founded in 1960 by John Mercoglan.  In 1980, John's son Kevin took over the business.  In 2003, Kevin hired Sheryll Graubart-Hoffman, formally of Graubart Jewelers, to manage JM Jewelers.  Sheryll has over 25 years of experience and is a Graduate Gemologist from The Gemological Institue of America.  Sheryll is a 4th generation jeweler.  Previously, Sheryll's father owned Graubart Jewelers in downtown Schenectady and was a landmark for over 100 years with the same family owning the business.  Sheryll's fahter, Hershel Graubart decided it was time to retire and closed his doors in 2002.  In 2007, Sheryll purchased JM Jewelers.
